Learning Partner / Specialist

At Capitec, learning is not transactional — it’s strategic. We’re looking for a Learning Partner who operates confidently at senior‑leadership level, brings strong business acumen, and drives measurable performance and behaviour change.
This role is suited to a Learning & Development professional who acts as a trusted advisor by diagnosing performance and capability needs, shaping high‑impact learning solutions, and enabling experienced measurable behaviour change aligned to business strategy. Partner and consult with business units on learning and development initiatives to enable delivery of the client’s people plan. You will diagnose performance and capability needs, shape fit-for-purpose learning solutions across the end-to-end learning value chain and use data and insights to prioritise interventions. Working closely with the Strategic People Partner and broader HR/L&D stakeholders, you will help embed a learning culture, support organisational and team health journeys, and provide forward-looking advice on future skills.
Experience
What you’ll do:
- Partner with senior leaders and Strategic People Partners on complex capability and performance challenges
- Lead performance consulting engagements to diagnose root causes and shape integrated solutions across the value chain
- Design and influence end‑to‑end learning strategies aligned to business priorities
- Utilise data analytics and learning metrics to identify trends and gaps in skills, proactively designing solutions to address these gaps.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness of the learning and development initiatives and solutions – assist with the monitoring and evaluation plans
- Act as a conduit between the client area and Learning & Development teams, sharing insights to continuously improve solutions and strengthen understanding of learning needs.
- Apply change management principles and coach/mentor leaders and middle management to support capability uplift and team effectiveness.
- Use data, insight and future skills thinking to enable sustainable impact
- Work closely with the Manager: Learning and Development and the Strategic People Partner to ensure alignment with the strategic vision set by the Head: Strategic People Partnering.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ experience in Learning & Development, operating at senior or enterprise level
- Strong performance consulting capability and business acumen
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behaviour change
- Proven track record of driving business aligned learning outcomes
- Proven capability across the L&D value chain (needs analysis, solution design, development approach, deployment, assessment and reporting/feedback).
- Ability to drive innovative learning practices and apply a forward-looking lens (e.g., future skills) to advise the business beyond immediate needs.
- Experience partnering with HR and business stakeholders) to align learning priorities, plans and budgets to business objectives.
Advantageous
- Experience operating in a fragmented Learning and Development model, collaborating effectively across multiple cross-functional teams.
