Head: International Payments Operations

Purpose Statement

• Provide operational insight and input to the strategy for electronic payment operations, (high value, low value and  cross border) to underpin, enable and deliver the Payments strategy.
• Lead and manage the electronic payment operations function, accountable for optimising departmental performance through business planning, budgets, goals and metrics, people, standards, principles and processes
   

Experience

Min/Ideal:

• 10yrs+ general/operational management experience in a senior role
• Or as a specialist in a leadership role such as a manger or head of a function such as finance, operations, accounting.
• Experience leading and managing a team and /or organisational unit
• At least 7yrs payment/transaction SWIFT experience at a senior level.
• Proven experience of using influence and relationships to drive and achieve objectives.

• Legislation and regulation and the implications thereof on the payment industry;
  • Banks Act & regulations
  • NPS Act and Directives
  • Exchange Control and regulations 
  • Payment Association rules
  • Payment clearing rules, directives and principles.
  • Commercial, business and financial principles and practices. 
  • Building and developing effective teams.
  • Payments related technology and management systems.
  • General business practices and acumen 
  • Governance and risk management principles
  • Business products, processes, policies and systems
  • Fundamental IT systems and data analysis
  • Quality principles and practice
