About the Role

Data Analyst

Location: Stellenbosch, South Africa
Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mathematics background who enjoys logic, complex problem-solving, and building smart, data-driven solutions in a financial environment.

The successful candidate will work behind the scenes to develop, monitor, and maintain credit-related models, tools, and processes that support intelligent decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and support backend credit intelligence models, tools, and processes.
  • Analyse data using SAS, SQL, and Excel.
  • Monitor system behaviour, flags, anomalies, client queries, and economic impact triggers.
  • Prepare clear monthly reports and communicate insights effectively.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of bank-related data and support system enhancements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong mathematics background, such as BCom with Maths or similar.
  • Actuarial students or candidates with actuarial aptitude are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong logical reasoning, numerical ability, and comfort with complex calculations.
  • Excellent written communication, curiosity, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
