Purpose Statement

  • The Data Analyst role exists to unlock value from data by making data accessible and meaningful to stakeholders across the organization. This role transforms data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making, optimize operations, and drive business performance. By identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities, the role enables informed, data-driven decisions and contributes directly to the company’s strategic objective of being an insights-driven organization.    

Experience

  • NB. Length of experience required is conditional on the qualifications obtained but must include: 
  • Experience in data analysis, with a significant portion in the financial services or banking sector
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale data analysis projects and driving business impact through data insights
  • Experience in data analysis, with a significant portion in the financial services or banking sector 
  • Mastery of advanced data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and their application in predictive analytics.
    Of aligning data analysis with business strategy and goals.
  • Experience in providing data-driven recommendations to senior management and influencing decision-making.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring less experienced analysts and data teams - knowledge sharing and training within the organization.
  • Overseeing adherence to industry regulations and compliance requirements in the analytics space.
  • Experience of  market analysis and understanding of economic factors affecting the business.

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Masters Degree in Analytical/Data/Technical or Other

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Honours Degree in Analytical/Data/Technical or Other

Knowledge

  • Expert mastery in SQL, including query optimization, database design, and ETL processes.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex dashboards and visualizations.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in predictive analytics.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R, including experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical modelling techniques and their application in financial analysis.
  • Expertise in advanced predictive analytics techniques and their application in financial services.
  • Ability to derive strategic insights from data and align them with business goals.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management techniques and their application in financial analysis.
