Why this role exists
We are strengthening how we test and release our digital products. This role exists to lead our software testing capability forward — balancing today’s manual testing needs with a clear move towards automation, while developing our people and raising the quality bar across everything we deliver.
What you’ll do
• Lead and support a team of software test analysts, helping them grow into stronger, more automated testers.
• Own the end-to-end testing approach for your product area, from planning through to release readiness.
• Increase test automation coverage while ensuring manual testing remains effective where it matters.
• Set clear testing standards and make sure quality risks are identified early and managed well.
• Work closely with software engineers, product partners and operations to deliver reliable releases.
• Build confidence in testing outcomes by making results visible, clear and trusted.
About the team
We are part of a product-focused technology team working on high-impact digital journeys, including credit and lending products used by millions of clients. Our broader team includes software engineers, test analysts, system analysts and operations specialists. In this role, you will directly lead four testers, with a strong mandate to modernise how testing works across the team.

What we’re looking for
• Solid experience in software testing, covering both manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with test automation, including scripting and modern automation tools.
• At least one year of experience leading or managing a testing team.
• A strong understanding of the full software delivery lifecycle and where testing adds the most value.
• The ability to create clear test plans and guide others through them.
• Confident communication and a calm, structured approach to problem-solving.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology or a related field.
