Operations Manager: DSD (Cape Town)

Purpose Statement

  • To manage and provide direction to a team of IT development specialists within the e-Channels environment (cell phone/ internet / ATM) to ensure strategic business deliverables are achieved.
  • To ensure maintenance requests related to the e-Channels environment (cell phone/ internet / ATM) are prioritised and actioned accordingly.
     

Experience

Min:

  • At least 10 years’ + experience within Operations Management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in people management
  • Basic project management experience


Ideal:

  • Exposure to a front-end / user interface environment (i.e. Java)

 

 

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • National Certificate in Other
  • A relevant degree in Information Technology

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • A relevant qualification in Management or Similar

Knowledge

Min:
Must have detailed knowledge of:

  • IT systems development processes
  • Application development
  • System architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
  • Banking systems
  • Business analysis and design
  • Standards and governance
  • Agile development life cycle
  • Testing practices


Ideal:

  • Knowledge of UML and business process modelling (BPM)


Solid understanding of:

  • Capitec Bank’s systems environment
  • Capitec Bank business model
  • Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Object Orientated Development environment (i.e. Java, Spring Framework JBoss)
