UX Lead: Client Experience

Purpose Statement

Capitec’s Client Experience Team in Retail Banking is looking for a talented and experienced lead user experience designer to join our growing team. This exciting position will give you the opportunity to shape our client experience across all digital platforms for the largest digital bank in South Africa. You will be leading a team of UX Designers, UX Writers and Design System specialists.  

In this position you will also be responsible for managing the work coming into the team, overseeing other digital product lines and their UX needs, assisting with recruitment and driving a world class user experience through Retail Banking.  

 

ABOUT YOU 

A top-notch leader in user experience design, you have a great track record of successful digital products and experience in leading a team of UX professionals. You have conducted or reviewed customer research to make more informed suggestions. You always think client first, however, consider the big picture from concept to execution. You love working with a team on a mission and are adept at collaborating with developers, business analysts, product owners, brand, data scientists, marketing and other UX/UI designers.  

You're a clear and articulate communicator. You're deliberate about your design approach, and open to feedback regarding user experience from other stake holders on various products. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 

 

Experience

MINIMUM:

  • Five or more years:
    • 5 - 8 years' experience as a Lead of client/user experience designers.
    • Experience in client/user interface and experience design for web applications and mobile devices.
    • Experience in interaction design and visual design through prototyping in an agile software development environment
    • Proven experience in coordinating activities across the AGILE life cycle.

IDEAL:

  • Banking experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience in usability testing
  • Portal and dashboard design experience to ensure the solution meets client expectations 
  • Analytics background 
  • Passion for interaction design and animations 

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Certification in Design

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology

Knowledge

MINIMUM:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Invision, Abstract, Sketch and prototyping software.
    • Understanding of Agile Practices.
    • A thorough understanding of simplified user-centred design methodologies is a must.

IDEAL: 

  • Knowledge of:
    • Knowledge of psychology as it pertains to CX/UX behaviours and principles.
    • Knowledge of CUA or similar.
    • Knowledge of Project management methodologies would be beneficial.
