We’re looking for a Test Automation Engineer II to join a credit-focused engineering team, working on complex systems that support credit approval, decisioning, and related financial processes. This is a hands-on automation role for someone who enjoys working across front‑end, back‑end, and API layers, and who wants to make a real impact on how reliable, scalable banking systems are delivered.

About The Team

You’ll be part of a collaborative, delivery‑focused team operating in the credit environment, where quality and reliability are critical. The team works on new features, enhancements, and tactical solutions, rather than only maintaining legacy systems - meaning your automation work directly supports forward‑looking products and improvements. This role sits within an Agile delivery environment, partnering closely with developers, business stakeholders, and other testers to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Test Automation Engineer II, you’ll enable and enhance software quality by combining robust automation practices with sound testing fundamentals, including some manual testing where needed. Your focus will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Testing across front‑end, back‑end, and APIs, with a strong emphasis on automation
  • Contributing to integration and regression testing, especially as new products and features are introduced
  • Working with Playwright and JavaScript as core automation technologies
  • Collaborating with the team to continuously improve testing approaches, environments, and pipelines
  • Ensuring quality throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years’ hands‑on experience in test automation
  • Strong understanding of automation frameworks, test case design, and execution
  • Experience with integration, regression, and API testing
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control (e.g. Git)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing or similar

 

Strongly preferred:

  • ISTQB Foundation Level (or equivalent testing certification)
  • Experience using Playwright and JavaScript for automation
  • Exposure to banking or credit environments, or complex transactional systems
  • Experience working in Agile teams

Minimum Education

  • Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Software Testing - Foundation Level through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB)
