Capitec Business Bank is growing rapidly, and we’re investing in AI‑enabled automation and conversational experiences to simplify how our clients and teams get things done. We’re looking for a Business Analyst I who is curious, analytical and excited about working at the intersection of business, technology and AI.
This role is ideal for a Business Analyst who wants to build strong foundations in automation, process optimisation and conversational AI while working in a collaborative, product‑led environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Business Analyst I, you’ll support the identification, analysis and delivery of automation and AI‑enabled solutions that improve efficiency, control and client experience.
Your work will include:
- Analysing business processes, systems and user journeys to identify automation opportunities
- Defining and documenting business, process and functional requirements
- Assessing whether problems are best solved through:
- AI‑driven automation
- Traditional rules‑based automation
- Process or system redesign
- Human‑led activities
- Supporting the design of AI automation, human‑in‑the‑loop solutions and conversational AI journeys
- Collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams and Technology to deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions
- Assisting with implementation, testing, go‑live support and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contributing to user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery artefacts in an Agile environment
Conversational AI Exposure
In addition to automation analysis, you’ll support conversational AI initiatives, including:
- Defining intents, conversation goals and routing logic
- Supporting conversational journey design and escalation paths
- Working with technical teams to clarify workflow, data and integration requirements
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Minimum: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Technology or a related field
- Preferred: Additional exposure or certification in AI, Agile, Business Analysis, process improvement or related disciplines
Experience & Knowledge
- 2–4 years’ experience in Business Analysis or a closely related role
- Experience analysing business processes and translating requirements into clear documentation
- Exposure to Agile ways of working and the SDLC
- Comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders
- Working knowledge of automation, AI‑enabled solutions or digital optimisation initiatives
Nice to Have (Not Essential)
- Understanding of APIs, integrations or basic SQL
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence or similar
- Interest in conversational AI, workflow automation or process optimisation
