Purpose Statement

  • To contribute towards managing and deploying business improvement initiatives through engaging with stakeholders and facilitating the drafting, approval, publication and maintenance of credit policies and credit governance documents across the credit value chain, in line with credit governance standards. 
    • Defining the overall business credit requirements with consideration to process efficiency, credit risk, compliance, and local legislation and proposing solutions that fully address credit requirements.
    • Analysing, researching, designing, recommending, and implementing innovative credit policies and credit processes while maintaining compliance with relevant legislations. 
    • Ensuring policy decisions help create the right target portfolio, in line with credit risk framework, and meet group strategic and regulatory requirements.

Experience

Minimum:

  • 2 – 3 years’ general banking experience, in a role responsible for working with policies and governance
  • Process development and reviews
  • Translating business requirements into a formal policy document
  • Policy committee representation

Ideal:

  • Delivering credit policies

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Commerce

  • Relevant legislation
  • Credit life cycle
  • Credit products
  • Business risk and compliance (controls and measures)

Ideal:

  • Credit policy knowledge across the credit life cycle 
  • Process mapping
