Purpose Statement

  • To contribute to the enhanced client experience service delivery of the Foreign Exchange Department through accurate and timely capturing foreign payments as per client instructions, and processing the Balance of Payment (BOPs) daily for current value date

Experience

MINIMUM:

  • 3-5 years in a Foreign Exchange payment environment
  • 2 years Foreign Exchange processing experience

IDEAL:

  • 5+ years in a Foreign Exchange Payment environment 

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Certification in Accounting - Management Accounting or Commerce

Knowledge

MINIMUM:

  • Knowledge and compliance with relevant Foreign Exchange Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SA Reserve Exchange Control Regulations, SWIFT standards, message types and cut-off times.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic pricing concepts and application to client transactions / accounts.
  • Understand Accounting and Reconciliation concepts (understand entries and be able to do account reconciliations).

IDEAL:

  • Knowledge on banking systems
  • Good working knowledge of standardised business banking and Treasury products.
