Purpose Statement

  • To build and drive franchising within Business bank through establishing and maintaining valuable partnerships with franchisors.
  • To design innovative solutions for franchising and support internal and external customers with effective and efficient processes.

Experience

Minimum:

  • At least 7 years’s experience dealing directly with Franchisors and Franchise role players as well as service providers (to bring a network which adds value)
  • Experience to include:
    • Credit risk and portfolio assessment, mitigation and management
    • Identifying gaps and opportunities in the market
    • Assessing and understanding Franchisor needs
    • Putting franchise deals together 
    • Managing a portfolio of business customers with a service and financial analysis focus
    • Supporting and providing specialist advice to others
    • Applying business principles to calculate value
  • Track record of relationship management and building trusting professional relationships

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • A relevant degree in Business Management or Commerce

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Honours Degree in Business Management or Commerce

Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the franchising sector
  • Relationship and trust building methods and means
  • General business acumen
  • Strong practical knowledge of all the competitor products or solutions available in the market
  • Track record of relationship management
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment, mitigation and management.
  • Principles and workings of a credit environment
  • Customer service principles and practices
  • Information (internal and Franchisor/ee) sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Presenting proposals to senior stakeholders, both internal and external and fielding questions
  • Ability to assess and understand franchisor's and franchisee's needs.
  • Deal making; structures, principles, relevant regulatory and legislative controls
  • Negotiation techniques
  • Mathematical/numerical agility (to respond appropriately to deal structuring and Forum sessions.)
  • Financial and credit risk technical knowledge
  • Technical knowledge of financial modelling
  • Understanding of business client business and financing needs
  • Sales principles, methodologies, tools and processes
  • Market segmentation propositions and customer profiles
  • Account management principles
