Purpose Statement

To contribute to the effective functioning of the Capitec Business Banking Treasury Department through:

  • Applying subject matter knowledge of Forex Payments and the Swift System to provide payment related support to internal and external clients and stakeholders. 
  • Investigating and resolving payment queries and complaints, thereby creating a highly efficient, effective and unique customer experience within the banking industry.

Experience

MINIMUM:

  • 3 - 4 years Foreign Exchange experience with exposure to Exchange Control Rulings (in a Banking environment)
  • Customer service experience

IDEAL:

  • 4+ years Foreign Exchange experience with exposure to Exchange Control Rulings (in a Banking environment)
  • Previous experience in taking the lead with certain projects, tasks and objectives

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Banking or Finance

Knowledge

MINIMUM:

  • Knowledge and compliance with Company and Treasury Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic pricing concepts and application to client transactions / accounts
  • Knowledge and understanding SA Reserve Exchange Control regulations,  SWIFT standards, cut-off times, etc
  • Relevant knowledge of payment documentation such as, Invoices, transport documentation and customs documentation
  • Relevant knowledge of International Foreign Exchange, payment and clearing systems,
  • Understand Accounting and Reconciliation concepts (understand entries and are able to do account reconciliations
  • Good knowledge of the SARB Import Verification System and understand the requirements in respect of Unique Consignment Reference and Movement Reference Number references
