What you will be doing:

  • Lead the implementation of data analytics projects and initiatives to support internal audit engagements and expand the coverage of continuous assurance, under the direction of the Internal Audit Informatics Assurance Manager.
  • Ensure that the analytical objectives of audits are achieved, and that work complies with Internal Audit’s methodologies and quality standards.
  • Develop and verify accuracy of content within audit reports and continuous auditing activity documentation.
  • Review work of team members and providing coaching where needed.
  • Provide day to day coaching, guidance, and on the job training to team members to ensure development, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Use and champion SQL, Python, and PowerBI to implement purpose-built continuous auditing products.
  • Support audit management in developing resource plans to support the delivery of the annual audit plan.
  • Support audit management in developing and maintaining data-related methodologies and practices.
  • Develop training material and facilitate learning initiatives for all auditors on data concepts and techniques.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • At least 4 years’ experience implementing innovative BI solutions leading to clear business decisions and benefits, including;
  • At least 4 years’ experience in data analysis, including experience in, and understanding of, database structure design and data extraction principles (ETL). 
  • At least 4 years’ experience working with any visualisation tools, with a preference for Power BI (DAX, M)
  • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) in statistics, finance, actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, information systems, data or mathematical sciences, data analysis, business analysis or engineering
  • Overall good understanding and application of BI best practice
  • At least 1 years' experience in Python or R (or any other relevant programming language)

Our ideal candidate also has:

  • At least 4 years' experience in SQL (Postgres, MySql, MS SQL) which involved cleaning, enriching, transforming, data mapping, data aggregation, and data normalization that is suitable for data analysis.
  • Working with product development life cycle and Agile frameworks
  • Experience managing own work and that of others and initiatives from start to finish, including planning, scoping, budgeting, timeline management, and managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.
  • Experience of overseeing and providing technical guidance to team members and colleagues.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of SQL: Preferably using AWS technologies (Redshift, Athena, DataLake, Python, PostgreSql, MySQL) or MS Technologies (Azure services, SQL, SSAS)
