About The Role

The Release Manager role involves managing the Salesforce platform's release pipeline, ensuring smooth and secure deployments across multiple teams. This person must have extensive experience in Salesforce DevOps, including Git, GitHub Actions, and test automation. They will oversee the technical design authority, ensuring that all releases adhere to established standards and governance. The Release Manager will work closely with architects and developers to review designs, manage security, and support the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring that new capabilities are effectively integrated, and that the platform remains stable and optimized.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with Salesforce, including a deep understanding of its architecture and shared components. 
  • Must have experience with at least 2 different Salesforce Cloud platforms (for ex: Sales Cloud, ServiceCloud, Marketing Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud)
  • Proficiency in Git, GitHub Actions, and test automation. Should understand the Salesforce DevOps process, including managing multiple teams sharing one release pipeline. 
  • Experience in participating in or leading a technical design authority, with the ability to review and approve designs based on established standards and governance. 
  • Strong understanding of security standards and the ability to manage security within the Salesforce platform, ensuring compliance and secure deployments. 
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams, facilitating communication and ensuring that releases do not negatively impact other teams' work. 
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues within the release pipeline, ensuring smooth and efficient deployments.

Minimum Education

  • Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology - Computer Science or Information Technology - IT Engineering

Minimum Knowledge

  • A strong understanding of CRM, Sales, Marketing, and other business processes.
  • Good knowledge and experience with AppExchange products and understanding of how to install/de-install.
  • Should have strong understanding of deployments using Force.com migration tools (Salesforce Tools IDE, GITlab, and Version Control i.e. AutoRabit).
