Where You'll Make Impact

In this role, you’ll ensure Capitec Bank’s strategic objectives- profitability, operational efficiency, process excellence, and compliance—are achieved through strong financial leadership across Shared Services. You’ll empower your team to drive these objectives within their portfolios, build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, and apply your expertise in operational finance, cost management, and compliance to deliver proactive and innovative solutions.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of finance business partners and costing analysts focused on Shared Services portfolios such as HR, IT, Risk, and Operations.
• Partnering closely with service owners and enabling functions to unpack and interpret cost drivers, service delivery metrics, and financial performance.
• Reviewing and guiding forecasts and budgets, driving insights that support strategic decision-making and cost optimization.
• Enhancing reporting measures such as cost-to-serve and return on investment, and building greater understanding of these across the organisation.
• Applying your knowledge of financial frameworks (e.g., IFRS, internal controls) to assess and guide financial impacts and compliance.

What we’re looking for

• A CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (non-negotiable).

• 8+ years’ financial and operational management experience, with proven accountability for business plans, risk, compliance, and delivery of objectives.

• Strong leadership experience, having managed and developed teams of significant size, building cohesion and driving high performance.

• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior/executive stakeholders and represent the finance function externally.

• A track record of proactively improving team energy, cohesion, and processes rather than only following direction.

• Experience in large corporates or financial services (banking, insurance, fintech, payments), with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced culture.

• A commitment to long-term career growth, with aspirations to progress within the organisation.

• Proven experience managing financial projects and delivering on strategic initiatives.
