Senior Credit Specialist: Client Value Management

Purpose Statement

  • To ensure Capitec’s credit product features / terms of business are aligned internally, competitive externally, and delivering client value.
  • To develop the credit / financial personality tool by working with external psychometricians and behavioural economists, and by aligning Capitec’s credit profiling tools, specifically exploiting synergies between the credit barometer (“credit rating”), credit estimate, credit batch scoring (campaign targeting).



  • 3 years relevant retail credit analysis experience


  • Experience influencing client engagement solutions including direct marketing segmentation

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Honours Degree in Finance or Similar

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Honours Degree in Behavioural Economics
  • Masters Degree in Finance or Similar



  • Retail credit lifecycle
  • Retail credit market
  • Retail credit IT systems architecture
  • Retail credit profit models including pricing and provisioning
  • Database querying software (ex. SQL)
  • Client engagement solutions including direct marketing segmentation
  • National Credit Act (NCA)
  • Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
  • Banks Act and Basel III Risk Framework
  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI)
  • Project management principles
  • Credit affordability assessment regulations
