Purpose Statement

Are you a frontend wizard ready to create amazing client experiences? At Capitec, we're looking for a dynamic Frontend Software Engineer to transform design mockups into seamless, user-friendly interfaces. You'll be at the forefront of developing, testing, deploying, and enhancing complex frontend systems, ensuring top-notch performance and scalability. Your role will also involve guiding and supporting your team through engineering challenges.

 

In addition, you'll collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product managers to deliver cohesive and innovative solutions. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to best practices will drive the creation of intuitive, high-quality user experiences that delight our clients. By staying up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and trends, you'll continuously push the boundaries of what's possible, making a significant impact on our digital platforms.

Education (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology

Knowledge and Experience

Experience:

  • 6+ years’ proven experience in front-end software development, project delivery, and implementation (in relevant development technologies/language).
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks and technologies.
  • 3-5 years proven experience as a web front-end developer using the below technologies:
    • React / Vue / Angular
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • CSS / SCSS
    • HTML

Knowledge: 

  • Strong understanding of IT systems development processes (SDLC), application development, and advanced programming concepts.
  • Expertise in responsive design principles, mobile-first development, and browser compatibility issues.
  • Proficiency with front-end build tools, package managers, and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with agile project tracking tools (Jira), source control tools (Git), and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience with enterprise-level CMSs (Optimizely, Salesforce Sitecore, Magento, Adobe), AWS, and best practices for software testing and quality assurance.
