Purpose Statement
Our Platform Engineering team is currently recruiting for a Specialist: Cloud FinOps. The location being open to our Stellenbosch and Sandton offices.
To support Capitec's Technology Teams optimally manage their cloud platforms through:
- Cloud cost and usage analysis and reporting.
- Collaboration and co-management of a team's cloud financials
- Researching and advising on the use of various cloud services (and application to team environments).
- Identifying cloud wastage and managing initiatives to reduce identified cloud wastage.
- Implementation of team specific KPI.

Experience
Minimum:
- 3 – 5 Years experience in a Cloud FinOps capacity
- 3 – 5 Years IT Financial Management experience
- Experience in working with various cloud technologies (AWS & Azure)
- Experience in relevant costing and reporting tools, IE. PowerBI, Excel
Ideal:
- Experience in financial services or banking organisation.
- 5+ years' experience in a Cloud FinOps capacity
- 2+ years as a Qualified Chartered Management Accountant or Chartered Accountant (SA)
Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Finance
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - IT Engineering or Information Technology
Knowledge
- Understanding of Cloud Financial Management principals
- In-depth knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
- In-depth knowledge of the AWS Whitepaper on Cloud Financial Management
- Understanding of Cloud Transformation
- Understanding of Technology Software Development Life Cycle
- Certified Cloud Practioner
Ideal:
- Cloud Certification, AWS Solutions Architect Associate
- Finance and cloud cost management
- Costing and reporting tooling, IE. AWS Quicksight
