Team Leader: Cyber Security

Purpose Statement

  • The incumbent will lead and develop the Cyber Security Defence team to ensure that the business is prepared and skilled to mitigate any cyber security threat.
  • The incumbent will play a major role in developing “world-class” cyber security capabilities within the Bank.

Experience

Minimum:

  • 5+ years in the Cyber or Information Security field
  • 3+ years in a senior security operations, and incident response, and/or IT forensics position

Ideal:

  • 2+ years leading a technical team
  • 2+ years financial services / banking background

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • Certification in Security Management

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Security Management
  • Certification in Information Technology - Technical Support

Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Development and implementation of SIEM use-cases (e.g. QRadar, Splunk, ArcSight)
  • Configuration and management of vulnerability scanning solutions (e.g. Nessus)
  • Configuration and management of technical security controls (e.g. ID/PS, AV, DLP, firewalls)
  • Audit and/or implementation knowledge of best practices (e.g. ISF SoGP, PCI DSS, CIS CSC) 
  • Attacker tools, techniques and procedures, including kill-chain analysis
  • IT forensics investigations and case management 

Ideal:

  • Managing an enterprise vulnerability scanning program
  • Managing a corporate Security Operations Centre 
  • Managing a corporate Cyber Incident Response Team
  • Driving risk resolution with internal stakeholders
  • Managing small, technically adept teams
  • Experience with the Agile and DevOps models
  • Banking systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with Banking industry regulatory requirements, specific to information security
